Meals to Master

Healthy Habits

Learn over Lunch or Discover over Dinner with Health Skilled’s meal service for private groups and parties. We have a range of menus that can be served in one of our venues or in your own home depending on the size of your group. We use tasty ingredients as a light-hearted and informal way to illustrate what foods to eat to help promote health or prevent diet-related diseases. We have a range of menus designed around a variety of health topics that are inspired by current knowledge in nutrition science. As each course is served, we will explain how the ingredients affect the body, how much you need to eat for health benefits, and how cooking and storage affect the nutritional properties of the food. Evidence-based food facts will be explained, while myths, misconceptions and misinformation relating to the theme of the meal will be explored.

Health Skilled

Do I have to book one of the topics advertised on your website?

The themes are suggestions of popular health topics. However, we can tailor menus around the specific purpose of your event.

Health Skilled

What is the minimum number of people for a booking?

We can cater for any number of people, but we would suggest a minimum of 4 to 6 people to make the meal cost effective and encourage questions and conversation.

What should I expect

during the meal?

Lunches are typically 2 or 3 courses and last 1 to 2 hours. Dinners can be 3 or more courses and last 2 or more hours. Additional preparation time will be required when the meal is hosted in your own home. However, the time and number of courses can be adapted to suit your needs. During each course, one of our qualified nutrition professionals will tell you and your guests about the ingredients used and explain how they affect the body. You will discover how much and how often you need to eat the foods to achieve their health benefits. The recipes and key facts related to the theme of the meal will be provided for you and your guests.

Who are the meals suitable for?

The meals can be a social event for friends and families, but also work well for team building events or parties, such as birthdays or hen parties. The themes of the meals described above are suitable for adults, but children can be included and provided with smaller portions. We can accommodate some dietary preferences (e.g. vegan or vegetarian diets) and food intolerances (e.g. gluten-free or dairy-free) but unfortunately we are unable to cater for food allergies (e.g. peanut or tree nut allergies). However, for small groups all guests would need to have the same menu.

Health Skilled

What ingredients do you use?

We use seasonal and locally sourced ingredients where possible. We would like you to be able to recreate the dishes in the future if you wish. So, the ingredients will either be readily available or suitable alternatives will be given.

Health Skilled

What topics are covered?

Examples include, but are not restricted to, eating for heart health, bone health, gut health, weight loss, weight management, healthy pregnancy, healthy menopause, healthy ageing, men’s health, women’s health, preventing type 2 diabetes, preventing high blood pressure, preventing heart disease, and what are the health benefits of foods that are in season now.

Health Skilled

Where will the meal take place?

We can provide meals in your home or at one of our venues. Our local areas are Hampshire (e.g. Farnborough and Fleet) and Surrey (e.g. Camberley and Frimley), but we can cater for other locations in the UK with sufficient notice.

Health Skilled

How much does it cost?

Please email us if you are interested in this service, as prices depend on the number of courses, the number of guests and whether you require us to provide the venue.
